Why I write…and a few other things

Happy fall everyone! Is fall your favorite season? It is for me. I really enjoy crisp air in the morning with the sunshine beginning to glisten through the leaves that are changing color and giving us all a beautiful portrait of God’s work. Luv it!

I’ve been asked by a few of you about “why” I write this blog. Well, the simple answer is connection. It allows me to stay connected with many of you that I, due to now living in another state, don’t get to connect with as much as I’d like. Also, it is VERY therapeutic. It allows me to get things off my chest, off my mind and “out there”, whatever that means. Lol! I’ve been writing in a journal for a number of years now. I started as a way of capturing my thoughts and what my life looked like so that, one day when I’m gone, my kids can go back and read them-if they care to. I still do it for this reason today, but also find that it helps with stress. I can get thoughts out of head, on paper, and leave them there. If you’re not currently journaling, I highly recommend you give it a try. Just write down what’s going on with you. What’s on your mind. You never know what could happen.😊

Recently, I have been somewhat consumed with my pending retirement next year. Not the actual “day”, the process, the delivery, the execution and the “after”. I want to go out in such a way that I can show and express my sincere gratitude for the almost 40 years of service that my clients have allowed me to have. if you really know me, you know that I want that delivery to be memorable. Special. From MY heart. Things are in motion. Can’t wait to see it all come together!

I’ve received A LOT of positive feedback about my blog titled, “Wayfinder”. Just yesterday, I was speaking to a friend and told him I was on my way to nationwide Children’s to be a “Wayfinder”. His comment: “I just love that name!” My question for you is this: have you identified someone in your past that was a Wayfinder for you? Have you made the conscious decision to be a Wayfinder for others? It’s all about serving others. That unconditional love that we all seek? Wayfinding can be about GIVING that unconditional love. Give it a try. It may just change you.

Last thing: smile. I love you.❤️

Be well,

Jeff
