Hello lovely people.❤️
Who is ready to feel a “little nip in the air?’” A little bit of “cool” when you step outside in the morning, or take that after-dinner walk? I am. Don’t get me wrong. I am the guy who loooves hot yoga. Used to do CrossFit workouts in an old warehouse that had NO air conditioning. But hey, I am older, and a bit wiser-I think- and I’m done with looking at my weather app and it telling me the “feels like” temperature is 100 or more. Truth: Tuesday night, In Nashville, the “feels like” temp, at 10pm, was 97. Enough
Wayfinder. Defined: someone or something that helps others find their way through a space or metaphorically through life’s challenges. I AM a wayfinder. Let me explain. As I approach the next phase of life, called retirement(no, it’s not happening now!), I’ve been praying for God to show me/give me opportunities to use the talents He has given me. Well, He presented me with a chance to volunteer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. So I did. They plugged me to a cool position called…Wayfinder. I’d never heard this word before. perhaps you have. As I went through the training, it became quite clear that this “job” was hand-scripted just for me by the big guy Himself. As the definition says, it is helping people find/navigate their way. I’ve been doing that my entire career! It requires a generous heart. I have one! It requires someone who enjoys talking and meeting new people. Bingo-that’s me!
However, this thought of a “wayfinder” got me to thinking. Aren’t we ALL Wayfinder? At least, in some small way? Also, turn the table: think back on your life. Who, in your past has been a wayfinder for you? Who is someone, perhaps a good friend, that currently is helping you navigate the ups and downs of life? They are there. Just think.
Challenge: be a wayfinder for someone. Serve someone. GIVE of yourself to someone who needs a little help. A little guidance. A little love. ❤️😊
Be well,
Jeff
